THE PROGRAM

Our Approach

Our approach is a blend of teaching disciplines guided by child-centered, play-based development equally valuing head, heart, and hands. This cross grain of works is designed to support the practice of holistic child development.

• We help children to find their unique voice and to develop creative expression in everyday life by actively engaging the child in art and creative learning.

• We nurture the child’s natural desire for knowledge, understanding, and respect by guiding self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play.

• We strive to increase aptitude, creative thinking, and emotional development with a holistic approach that supports thinking, feeling and doing.

• We aide in social and physical development as we guide through transitions, introduce calming techniques and provide physical activities.

The School Day

On any given day our developmental focus covers a wide spectrum of skills: Language Arts and Reading Readiness, Math, Science and Nature, Engineering and Experimenting, Creative Arts and Exploration, Music and Movement, Physical Activity, Self Care and Wellness, and Socialization. The day is structured to include these essential components: free time, circle time, creative expression, 1:1 time, snack time and outdoor play.

  • Children explore classroom centers based upon their interests. Our teachers engage with every child to encourage further exploration and develop ongoing investigations of their interests.

  • Children explore classroom centers based upon their interests. Our teachers engage with every child to encourage further exploration and develop ongoing investigations of their interests.

  • Children engage in arts and creative learning. This exploration of materials and techniques allows them to find their own voice and to develop confidence and problem-solving skills.

  • Every child is embraced exactly where they are to support their growing confidence. Our teachers spend one-on-one time with each child to provide individualized learning, encouragement, and support.

  • Children gain independence as they wash their hands and prepare for snack time. They practice manners as they engage in conversation with each other. Our school is nut free.

  • Physical activity is an important part of the day. Outdoor play helps develop social and gross motor skills. Our outdoor play area allows for climbing, swinging, running, and dramatic play.
