Common Questions

  • At Harrison Presbyterian, you will be welcomed into a friendly, casual environment by people who are happy to see you. You can enter through the front doors where you'll be handed a bulletin by a deacon or volunteer. After the service you are welcome to join us downstairs for coffee, refreshments and conversation in our gathering space.

  • Our service starts at 10am and is between 65-75 minutes. The service ends no later than 11:15.

  • We start with a welcome and a call to worship. Our praise team then leads us in 2-3 worship songs. We have announcements and a time of prayer together followed by a time for special music. Our children are dismissed to God's Kids downstairs and then we hear a sermon preached from God's Word. We close with one final hymn and a benediction (we end with Communion on the first Sunday of each month). Everyone is then invited to coffee hour downstairs where children can be picked up.

  • Our worship is a mix of classic hymns and contemporary worship.

  • You’ll hear a Gospel-centered, Bible-based message by our pastor, Tom Unkenholz. On occasion, we’ll have a guest speaker who will share an impactful message directly from God's Word.

  • When you attend you’ll find that everyone has their style, from casual to semi-formal. We believe that church isn’t about what you look like or wear, it’s about glorifying God as you are. You will feel welcome in a suit or flip-flops and a tee shirt.

  • Children birth-3 years can be dropped off up to 10 minutes prior to service downstairs in our nursery. If you don't know where to go, one of our greeters upstairs will be happy to show you the way. Kids up through 4th grade will be dismissed to God's Kids with an adult volunteer after special music is over (roughly 1/2 way through the service).

  • We never expect first-time guests to give to the offering, and the offering plate will not be passed around during service. If someone wishes to give, the offering plate is located near the exit when the service is over.

  • We believe the sacrament of communion is for anyone who has put their faith in Christ as their Lord and Savior. We typically take communion on the first Sunday of each month. If you have not yet put your faith in Christ, we ask that you refrain from taking the bread and juice until you have made that commitment.
